Have you heard of Letterpress? It’s a way to “stamp” and de-boss on paper that leaves you with an image and a textured impression in one. Using a plate you apply ink (either with a pad or with liquid ink and a roller) and run it through a die cutting machine that applies the ink but also adds de-bossing as it presses into the paper. Think of de-bossing as the back side of embossing with a dip in the paper instead of raised. There are several different companies that offer products for Letterpress, most have bases and plates that work with existing manual die cutting machines so you can incorporate it with products you might already own. Use Letterpress as the focal point of cards or paper crafting project or for backgrounds, sentiments or embellishments combined with other products like traditional stamping and die cutting.
